BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Reginald Davis is a board certified Neurosurgeon specializing in minimally invasive spine surgery. At age 12, Dr. Davis told his schoolteacher that he planned to attend Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to become a neurosurgeon. When asked why he wanted to pursue this particular career, he answered that it was because he wanted to help people, and he loved science — and that’s exactly what Dr. Davis did.

Originally from Ohio, Dr. Davis earned an undergraduate degree in biology, chemistry, and mathematics from Marietta College in Ohio.  He was then accepted into the prestigious Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine to pursue post graduate study.  Dr. Davis then completed his internship and residency in general surgery followed by neurosurgery residency.  He also completed a research fellowship with Johns Hopkins University.

After earning his medical degree, Dr. Davis retained an academic affiliation with Johns Hopkins as well as other educational institutions while conducting clinical research. Dr. Davis was an assistant professor of neurosurgery at Johns Hopkins, a clinical instructor at the University of Baltimore and headed up the division of neurosurgery at the Greater Baltimore Medical Centre.

Dr. Davis has been involved in clinical trials leading to FDA-approved advancements in minimally invasive spine surgery and has written peer-reviewed articles for several major medical journals, such as the Journal of Neurosurgery and the International Journal of Spine Surgery. Dr. Davis was also one of the first US surgeons to use Dynamic Stabilization.

He understands the importance of empowering patients with education about their condition and the treatments available to them, so patients can make confident decisions about their spine care needs.

In his spare time, Dr. Davis enjoys spending time with his family and likes biking, fishing, and playing tennis.
